RISING STAR COMPETITION:
If you're age 18 or older with a voice that really rocks, you could be on your way to winning the coveted title of Operation Rising Star, the worldwide singing competition for military and family members --starting right here at Joint Base Lewis-McChord Field!
You also can win a prize if you place first, second or third at JBLM's competition.
Show the audience what a voice can really do when you eliminate the competition! Start your journey with the first a capella round Wed. Sept. 8 at the McChord Field Club/Community Center's ballroom from 6-9 p.m.
The rounds for Operation Rising Star continue Wed., Sept. 15 and 22. Finals are being held Wed., Sept. 29 from 6-9 p.m.
But wait, that's not all! The JBLM first-place winner, if selected to be among the top 12 from all Army installation winners, will perform live on the Pentagon Channel in November from Fort Belvoir, VA.
